After coming across your high protein cookies at the Trek Tri event, I became interested in using the cookies in our long term care facility as a supplement to the high protein shakes and puddings that we had been offering our residents.
Many residents in a long term care situation have nutritional deficiencies that require extra protein – issues with medication, wound healing, poor eating, etc. Having a cookie that we could give to residents instead of just the standard pudding or shake seemed like a great option that would give residents more choices in snacks and, at the same time, meet the nutritional care need that we are tasked to do.
Our dietician has reviewed the cookie information and agreed! We have been offering the cookies to residents and they love them! We have several residents who do not eat much at meals, but we know that they are at least getting their high protein cookies down.
Their favorite flavor is peanut butter and we are really happy to have an easy to eat, delicious and nutritious snack option for our residents with higher nutritional needs.
I look forward to seeing how our residents benefit from these cookies over time. We’ve just finished our first case and are ordering more.
